Long overdue update...

Sorry everyone. It's been a while. We are lazy bloggers...actually, it's just that we don't like to update you on every tiny detail of our lives (hello, what the heck is twitter all about?)
just most of the details. lol.

Anyway, awesome news about my aunt - thanks for praying! From my uncle:

Dear ALL who prayed for Eleanor,

Eleanor's kidneys are now completely healed.
Her infection is under control. However she will have to be
on antibiotics for another 4 weeks but SHE HAS BEEN TOLD SHE
MAY BE DISCHARGED HOME AS EARLY AS TOMORROW 27.05.2009.

ALL GLORY AND PRAISE TO GOD, OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS
CHRIST FOR HEALING AND RESTORING ELEANOR BACK TO HEALTH.

----

We went to Whistler on the May long weekend (apparently the unofficial start to summer...huh...) It was great fun, very relaxing to get away. Lach went biking and fortunately didn't hurt anything too major, although there was a moment where he hung over an embankment...

I promised some photos but they're not that great - we were having too much fun...and, I didn't follow them up the hills to take pics...so not many pics! Some of the crew, some of the view:

----

We got to attend the dedication of Zoe Evans last Friday evening. Isn't she a cutie?!

----

Planning for the U.S. trip is underway!! Hotels are booked, just need some flights :-) Yay.

That's about it for now. Hope you're all well :-)

Quick Update

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd just post a quick update on my Aunt. She is still in ICU, so please keep praying.

From my dad (from my Uncle): (Tua Mg is what we call her)
Tua Mg was put back on the machine for her kidneys over night,
though it is a smaller machine.

She is breathing now by herself with the assistance of an oxygen mask.
They have thinned her blood which has caused heavy bleeding from the groin.
They have found a 4cm blood clot near her wound which they may have to remove.
God is strengthening Tua Mg, so please continue to be vigilant in your prayers.

Pray for healing and strengthening of her vital organs, that her heart would continue to
grow strong, and that her lung capacity would increase.

Pray against further blood clots.

Ask that our Almighty God would speed her recovery.

Uphold me (my uncle) also in your prayers that God would sustain me
and keep me well so I can continue to intercede for Tua Mg.

In other news, our friends the Kellys had their baby (welcome to the world Mia!) and planning for our holiday in September with the Bachmanns is underway :-D

Also, here are some recent pics of the
fur baby - Thanks Jocelyn!
She looks like a bobble head hahahahaha. We miss her fiercely!
We're going to Whistler this weekend so hope to have some pics for you afterwards - it's a long weekend. Woo hoo!

Lazy Sunday

Here is the latest update on my Aunt:
She is out of sadation but very drowzy. Her heart is doing well. The dialysis machine for her kidney was also removed from her. Pray that her kidney will function well. Please continue to pray for full recover.
---

Also, I got this later (it's now Monday but I wrote most of this yesterday..how confusing):

This is truly a miracle from God.
(my Uncle) Henry wrote: Praise God Eleanor continues to make steady progress!
The dialysis machine has been removed from her for nearly 2days now and doctors are fairly happy with kidney functions.
All sedations were stopped about 3.30pm yesterday and she isnow in semi-conscious state, able to hear and sign with her finger and hand grip– which was an important result for the doctor.
Joshua, Nathan and I were able to speak to her (on Mother’s Day!!!) and through her slipping in and out of consciousness, she responded with tears and hand signs (how good isthis??)
She is still in ICU and feeling weak and drowsy, as expected.
Please continue to pray for:
- Kidney functions to recover fully
-Heart to remain strong
-Miraculous healing of the left heart valve
-That her breathing will completely be independent of aid
-Wisdom to surgeon and staff
REJOICE our God is good!
God’s love, joy and peace to all.
Thank you for praying for Eleanor.

Now for my random thoughts. I thought we'd record a lot more of our thoughts and challenges but usually when we find time to write I've forgotten what's happened. Hopefully we can share more of what God's teaching us over here in the future. Needless to say we are constantly being challenged about living in community and loving our neighbours, breaking down pre-conceived ideas in both directions and learning to live as we're supposed to.
Having a lazy day. Lach went biking today - I'm a little worried because our friends went yesterday and Sean broke his arm. Cry.
We are heading to Whistler next weekend - long weekend for Victoria Day. Looking forward to getting away and *finally* seeing Whistler. You'd think we'd have been to the snow but no...we never made it there during Winter.
Took some pics with Flat Isabel (have you read Flat Stanley?). Was fun. Which reminds me, I've gotta write a 'letter' and send off the pictures.
Have been watching the cruise ships come and go. Looking forward to Lach's parents coming over in August/September. Also been looking up flights to meet up with the Bachmann's in the U.S of A :-) Yippee!!!
It's my little sister's 21st birthday on Tuesday...well, Monday for me. How scarey! I still think she's 12. Sorry Spekkles. They had a surprise 50th/21st party for my Uncle and Spek (they have the same bday) Looks like it was heaps of fun and we're sorry we didn't get to see Nathan back at home.
That's it, I'm out of things to say. Friends are going to Flight of the Conchords tonight. We're not, but it would've been GREAT! haha.
Here are some pics of our view - Lach was creative and stitched some together for you :-)
Ps. Sorry if the font comes out funny - I can't make it go normal for some reason.

You are good.

Latest updates on my aunt Eleanor:

The doctors are weaning her off the ventilating machine very slowly. So far she is doing well. The heart is pumpimg well but she still needs assistance with her breathing via the machine.

Also for mitral valve heal (wat surgery could not fix...God WILL fix  its done bc i have said it with the full weight of the cross of Jesus behind me (and all yr prayers with full weight of the cross behind your prayers too)

Thank you all for praying.

Faith, hope and Love

I thought I'd just do a quick post to say thanks to everyone who has been praying for my aunt (Eleanor).

Today my cousin wrote:
Mum is still waiting for signs of a miracle. Heart did beat better and we shall see again today as she is weaned from machine. Pray also for Kidney function.....

We keep checking facebook and email for updates. Praying for God to show his mighty healing hand at this time. We are of course hoping the outcome is great, but trust that He is in control no matter what happens.

New House!

As promised...FINALLY! Pics of the new house.

This is the house we will have lived in the longest in around 2 years. Crazy huh?
We have been really blessed to find such a great place so quickly - everything just worked out.
We have a lovely view of the mountains and all the cruise ships that come in. lol.

The pics don't really show it off that well...so if you're on skype we can give you a tour! :-)

Soooo.....

Um, Sorry. Meant to write earlier.
So much time seems to have gone by, not sure where it went!

Latest few things to happen:

We got a cat...for a week. He belongs to the people who we were subletting from. His name is Bones. Mr Bones. He was a cutie, and it was nice to have a pet again for a while. But he made us realise we probably don't ever want a cat of our own. We'll stick to fur-children of the canine variety. This is him being a lazy fat cat...all twisty turney:

Our friends Stephen and Bec got married (we actually just had dinner at their house this evening!):

Thought I'd put some pics of people we talk about a lot so you can see who they are!

This is Aaron (left) and Jonathan.

This is Cherie (Aaron's wife) on the right and Carla (Jonathan's wife). Lovely ladies!

Shae with our neighbour (at the co-op) Kirsten.

Pic of Lach and Shae - quite rare so thought I'd put it on the blog! haha.

We also moved house, so I'll do another post about that with pics...stay tuned.
