Oh Canada...

Well, it's been a crazy week and I'm only getting to update you with some pics now.

We forgot to mention that in the 2 weeks (or so) before Canada Day, Gastown (our neighbourhood) was host to some free concerts for the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
It was pretty fun having the street blocked off and live music playing (which we could hear from our windows!)

Also as an aside - we were lucky enough to inherit (for now) an electric scooter - it looks like a normal motor scooter but is powered by an electric battery and for all intents and purposes is treated like a bike! It's AWESOME! We went for a ride (shae on scooter, lach on bike) round to Stanley Park and had a little picnic. Fun for 'Summer' :-) It has already come in handy around town. Thanks Bells!

Here are some pics from Canada Day - not many because I have heaps from the 4th July in Seattle, which I'll put in a separate post. We FINALLY saw a mountie (in uniform)...no horse in site though! haha. We spent the morning at Canada Place where they had a street festival.

We then decided to check out the Yaletown Grand Prix - wow they ride fast!

The celebratory fireworks couldn't start til 10.30 because it doesn't get dark until then! Fancy that! We watched them from our roof :-)
